Before I had kids I had an extremely exciting career as a trauma nurse. It was fun, fast paced and rewarding. No day was the same. When I was pregnant with my first child, I thought I might go back to work after I had him, but by the time he was 4 months old, I knew I wanted to stay home. Not long after that, we found out #2 was on the way. A move to the suburbs soon followed, and life as a stay at home Mom was in full swing.

As many of you can relate, parenting is not an easy job. In fact it’s harder than anything I’ve ever done. By the time I had our third baby, I felt like I was truly “in the weeds” as many moms refer to it.
I found myself completely lost in taking care of other people all day, and self care fell to the back burner.
I love exercise, that’s no surprise to you, but it’s more than that. I felt like I had lost a part of who I was, and fitness and community, specifically FITT-RX, helped me get back on track.

Besides just getting a kick butt 50 minute workout, or teaching a 50 minute circuit class, FITT-RX and my role there allows me to think creatively, research and educate myself (about things other than potty training and eureka math). I learned over the past couple of years that you can evolve as a person. Whatever stage of life you are in, deep into a busy career, or treading water as a parent of small kids, we all feel lost sometimes.

I am fortunate to have an amazing husband and family here, and I have made the most wonderful friends and they all lift me up daily. Finding FITT-RX was the icing on the cake.

Find something that makes you happy, makes you laugh, makes you work hard and pushes your limits. Run faster, lift a little heavier, race someone down the alley, (unless Jen or Antonette tell you it’s not a race!) Laugh and have fun with exercise, you’ll get stronger, healthier, and so much more!
