I read this quote the other day: “Christmas gives us the opportunity to pause and reflect on the important things around us.” For many of us, our first thought would be of our families.

As I mulled this over sipping my everyday habit of a trenta ice coffee (resolution 1: cut back on coffee), I realized that FITT IS a family. Our boutique fitness setting encourages clients and trainers to bond over a good sweat (resolution 2: need more sweat) and lots of swear words (clients, not trainers). True friendships and connections are formed while eeking out that final rep and running that last block. Turns out, shared misery is a great connector! These relationships go beyond the FITT walls and follow us into our community and daily lives.

And like an IRL family, FITT folks are there for each other. It has been a challenging year. Heartbreak seemed to hit so many of us. And like family, because of those shared bonds, we reached out to one another to make a meal, lend an ear or offer words of support. I’ve felt this love at FITT several times in the last few years, and it means so much to feel valued and understood. And let’s not underestimate the power of a great workout to help clear the mind and calm the soul. : )

So, as I pause to reflect on the important things around me, I am grateful for the FITT family and all the support it brings with it. Even the crazy uncle or two!

Merry, merry!
